You can use the Book Database to find reading levels for your books. Before you search for reading levels, you must already have a Book Database or KidPace Pro user account. If you do not have an account, please contact your building's site coordinator or technology coordinator.

1. Open your web browser and go to http://www.americanreadingonline.com.
2. In the lower left corner, login using your Book Database or KidPace Pro username and password.
3. Click the Search Books link on the left side of the screen.
4. You will now see the Book Database search page.
5. At the top of the screen, you will see two fields, one for a book title, and one for an author. You can search using either field, or both.
6. Searching for books by title:
   • To search for books with the word "bear" in the title, simply type "bear" in the title field and click the Search button.
   • It is not necessary to put the entire title of a book in this search field. In fact, you will often get better results by limiting the amount of keywords you search on.
7. Searching for books by author:
   • To search for books by Trace Taylor, simply type "Trace Taylor" in the author field and click the Search button.
   • It is not necessary to put the entire name of an author in this search field. In fact, you will often get better results by searching only on the last name of an author.
